how lovely is your Gluhwein!!
'Tis the season to be jolly and that is just what the Germans are and do to get eveyone into the holiday season....the Weihnachtsmarkt season is in full swing and we kicked ours off with the Landstuhl market. Then the Bruchmuhlbach market...the Hutschenhausen market...
Still to come are the famous markets in Trier (that is going to be super - it was last year!) and Saarbrucken, Kaiserslautern...and anywhere else we can trek to to enjoy the wursts, pommes, jager tee, gluhwein and all other things associated with the lovely german tidings of Christmas!!
Check out all the photos on Trevor's blog and as always, don't forget to leave your thoughts, questions and comments!!

It's been FOUR YEAR?!
Indeed it has been four years since Terry and I officially tied the knot and made our relationship permanent. We decided to take a trek down to Jamaica with Terry's buddy Brandon and we flew Jeani in from the States...Becky wasn't able to attend (the 3rd in our group Terry refers to as "The Trinity") as she was about to burst with her first daughter, but on the big day, she was there with us via cell phone - very "Friends" - like.
We all had such a blast, eating, drinking, swimming...while the boys scuba-dived, Jeani and I went horseback riding/swimming...we got a tour of the island with our driver Solomon and saw things I don't think many visitors normally see...we went to the Rum Factory and totally had an awesome time....
It was a life changing experience for all of us and it truly amazing how quickly time passes...it's so hard to believe it has been four years since all that fun!!!!

Man's Night - Football in K'Town
The Friday after Turkey day, Terry had plans to go to the Kaiserslautern football (soccer) game in with Michael and Ossie...and I got to go along. Let me tell ya, Man's Night is a TOTAL BLAST!!
The stadium is amazing - the accoustics are awesome...listening to the rise and fall of the fans cheering and hissing...it's something that I will never hear again (unless we make it back) and something I will never forget.
Being a member of "Man's Night" meant there were a lot of beers and lots of grub (bratwursts, currywursts, frickadelles, fries) oooh so good! especially after a couple of brews.
Kaiserslautern played Augsburg and it was a 0 - 0 game when all was said and done. I HIGHLY recommend supporting whatever local soccer league you have in your town. This is an amazing game requiring a huge amount of talent ... can't wait to hit my next match!!

Happy Turkey Day!!
What a lovely day we had...I cooked my first turkey and all the fixings...we had Claudia and Michael over and as tradition has it, over ate, completely overindulging in every aspect.
Although it was a super day, it seemed that something was missing......we had all the traditional foods, good friends, football on TV...but it just seemed like there was something missing...something we forgot...and it seems that it was just the fact that we weren't at home with dear friends and family....
But...it was great sharing it with our close German friends, sharing the American holiday.

A walk in the woods
Sundays in Germany are family day, a day of rest...a day for walking, hiking, resting and relaxing. This particular Sunday, Claudia and Michael asked us to take a walk with them...it was a great brisk fall day, and the scenery was spectacular...Trevor was fantastic and ended up sleeping on the way back to the parking lot.
It was so nice that it really made us consider changing our normal weekend routine to include such great outings!!
